Does anyone have any thoughts on lake Wingra in Madison Wisconsin? Doesn't seem like it's a trophy lake, but I'm just wondering if it's more of an action lake worth a weekend trip, I'm just south of Chicago and just would like to know if it's worth it. Any thoughts or any tips would be appreciated, or if you have any recommendations on any Southern muskie lakes for more of action, instead of trophies. Thanks!

Wingra is a good action lake. I have not been out there since May so I don't know how the weeds are. water temps should be fine, 75 range I'd imagine tops. lots of 30s and low 40s in there. If you are just looking for some action it's a good bet. On weekends it is trolling motor only tho so keep that in mind...

Awesome, thank you for that, it's within a reasonable drive for a weekend trip so that would be perfect. Thanks again!

Any word on how lake Wingra is structured? Is there rocks, any good drop offs, or anything else?

Thanks,

David

it is a shallow bowl, mainly all weeds, check out the map of it online I'm sure you can find it if you google it.... you more or less can't make a bad cast out there...

Get there early on a weekend or the park will be full and someone will be parked in the small turn around for your trailer. It's the only park/launch on the lake so if it's nice out it will be packed with people
