How do you work the phantom bait. It looks good on the straight retrieve. had a lazy follow on a more eratic retrieve. I have only had out on one occassion. Not confident yet!

Anyone had trouble with a big daddy jerk bait? Mine, second outing with the bait, lost all of the paint from the mid section of the bait! Not a single fish hit the lure to cause such damage. Huge chunks of paint stripped off. Anyone suggest a good lure paint?

Thanks Fever

The Phantom works well on a straight retrieve with a nice side to side swing.........however when its used as a jekbait it really shines.

Give the bait short pulls with the rod tip and the bait will swing from side to side with a slight roll to it. You can vary the cadence and force of the twitches to get many different retrieve styles. An occasional pause can really trigger fish.

This bait falls in the glider catagory of Jerkbaits. Worked properly it will seem to glide through the water. They work all season but Fall is really Phantom time........good luck.

Most of my Big Daddies look like I drag them behind the truck on the way to the lake their so beat. As far as paint I just use good spray paint and black sharpies for the rest. They catch fish just fine all tore up looking!
Unless you seal the wood and clear coat the heck out of it you will have to doctor her up every once in a while.
