| So last night my son was casting one of my rods and it snapped in half. I was there when it happened and it just broke. Fortunately, it was an older St Croix premier and not one of my new LTs. But I've never warrantied a St Croix before. I figure some guys on here surely have. What's the process? Do they warranty the Premiers? Thanks. |

| Call St Croix customer service at 800-826-7042 and talk with Dave Fischer at ext.149 or Dan Lerva at ext.114. They should be able to help you out. |

Do that. I had a avid spinning rod and although not premier I didn't sign up for any warranty or anything like that. And sure enough I stepped on it and broke one of the guides so I called them and explained what happen as they took care of it. St croix has the best customer service. They will help you out. |

Location: Hayward WI | Since it's an older rod, it's not likely a manufacturer defect, but that the rod was damaged through use and failed. I'd use the gold star plan, $55 fee + $15 to ship and you get a new rod no questions asked. Their web page has all the info |

And if you're in the speedy zone you can likely ship it to them for $10, especially since it's in half |

| Thanks. I actually just wrapped all this up earlier this morning. Went with the gold plan. Got to thinking: I bought that rod back in 1996 or 1997. That rod had fished all over Wisconsin and Minnesota. So many great memories and so many great fish. It finally met its demise as my sons and I were casting off my favorite island on Vermilion. If a rod has to break, that's how it ought to happen. |
