| Hey guys, wondering what everyones prefered woods are for different types of lures and why. I havent made many baits yet, but looking at starting with topwaters, any reason not to use pine?
Thanks | |

Location: Waukee, IA | I like cedar for most applications due to ease of carving/shaping. Pine, fir, cedar, basswood, maple and a few other woods are all commonly used. The lighter the wood the more weight is required to get it to sink (gliders) | |

| Pine works fine-- Many lures out there made of pine--should be a good choice for a topwater...
