For pounders you can't beat the HG. For blades I like the ease of the PG

HG all the way, and a longer power handle.

I own both. And if I had to get rid of one would be the pg

It depends on which one you do more, heavy rubber or big blades, and whether you plan to upgrade the stock handle or not.

If you are mainly fishing heavy rubber, then the 500HG is a slam dunk choice so you can take up slack line fast. If you mainly do #10 blades, then some do not like the greater resistance of the blades using the 500HG with the stock handle. The PG with stock handle will be easier to crank big blades than the HG, and works great if you don't plan to burn big blades.

The BEST all around choice is the 500HG and then plan to upgrade to the LJV power handle right away--then you will be good for both heavy rubber and big blades.

I have both the 500PG and the 500G. Like others have said the HG is a perfect match for the high speed slack line pick up (minimal resistance lures). The PG is on the other end of the spectrum, it is great for heavy resistance pulling, such as in the case of twin 10 blades. With those two points being cemented as scripture...
-The 500PG will pull big ten blades with ease, and can pull in slack line (at 30 inches per crank) with ease but you just have to real in the slack line faster (at minimal resistance so it is easy). Remember that 6 years ago the "high speed reels" used for rubber generally reeled in around 30 inches per crank.
-The 500HG will reel in slack line with ease, but if you plan to pull twin 10 blades with it all day it's going to make for a long and less enjoyable day (relative to other reels that aren't geared as high and as fast). It can do it, but it's more work.

If I had to have just one I'd go 500PG but that is just my experience.
