I went out on Pewaukee on Friday after work. I talked to the Extreme on at the launch, and he informed me that he was packing it up for the day. He told me that he was dragging a treble hook with a weight on it for about two hours with nothing to show. (now we know how he boats all of those fish):) Anyway, the reason that he was doing this is that he had a rod knocked out of the rod holder on Thursday night while out with someone. He was trying to catch it, so that he wasn't out a rod. Well, to make a long story longer, I was out with my cousin that night and we had a rip. I set the hook and gave him the rod, and went to clear the other rods. As I'm doing this, I feel some resistance. Then I see a bait that I was not running. I grabbed the line, and low and behold, it was the Extreme One's rod and reel. We ended up loosing that fish, but we went home with a biiig one.
Mike, I have your rod, so give me a buzz, and I can let you know what the ransome is.
I ended the weekend by boating a 42"er on Monday, and missing 2 others while fishing with the fiancee's uncle. Not too bad of a weekend.
Good lungen,
Joel

I put in three hours dragging for that rod. I got a story that goes with that rod misshap and the 38-incher we caught.
Last night I was out and my partner Dan Peckels caught a 38-incher with a tag or what was left of it. The funny thing is, the fish he caught is the same fish that caused the misshap on Thursday night. We had the fish up to the boat and it ran into the other lines(the side I didn't clear). It was dark, neither one of us ever heard the rod drop into the water, maybe the dog knocked it in.

This is the same fish, caught in the same spot, with the same bait 4 days later at almost the same time.

Joel, now this realy becomes a great fishing story. We will have to get together and have a few beers over this one. I got my match fishing thing Thursday night, do you think we could work out the ransom by then. I had a waypoint where it fell overboard but could not find it. Now I believe you can catch anything. Great score I owe you some info or baits or both. Oh ya I already put you on a fish, remember. How did you like the bait on that rod, chewed up or what.

Great story. What are the odds of that? I fished that lake and it is pretty huge to find someone's rod and reel even where you might know where they lost it.

Joel,
Please keep that rod and if possible borrow (read steal) any other rod, bait, or any other equipment that he leaves in his boat. Maybe even his net would work. Hold all of these items until precisely 12:01 Friday morning. At that time they can be returned, just after our matchfishing day is over.

Mike, That bait was definitely chewed up. I still can't believe that I caught it. I will get a hold of you tonight.
Norm, For the right price I can acheive wonders:)
If you're interested, the secret rig consisted of a bamboo pole, a slip bobber, and a pink and white fuzzy grub. Don't tell Mike, the secret is out.
I think I may have a pic of this catch, but I don't remember. The Point Amber kind of blurred my memory.
Good Lungen,
Joel
