who can brag they sucessfully landed a musky or two?? anyone? was the fishing slow in your area? did the fish go on an eating rampage?
I did no fishing, so i have no report, but i'd like to hear how others accross this fine country (and Europe) did w/ the muskies/big pike.

Took the weekend off from fishing....needed a break after 6 weekends in a row! Fishing in Illinois sucks right now, and I really dont feel like doing the long drive for Indy....which is why I'm Canada bound come Thursday!!!

Hey Tom,

I had clients on Sat. 11 fish up, with two that took a swing and a miss at some baits. Went out Sun. morning and bagged a nice little 35" musky. However, I must admit I am looking forward to autumn.

No muskies for me but I have been taking advantage of the awesome walleye bite on LOTW. We had a huge double, 28" and 29", while trolling. Later in the day I trolled up a fat 31" -11#er for my wall. We also released several others in the 24 -27" range. Best walleye fishing I have ever seen this year.

later,

Just spent a week up north, never seen or boated a legal. 4 sub legals. Kids caught some nice bass, pike and panfish. My 6 year old cleaned up, catching panfish and a nice 3.5lb smallmouth for his biggest fish. Tackle shops said the musky fishing was slow and were surprised at the "success" if you want to call it that.

Fished Lake Vermillion Friday, Sat, and a small part of Sunday. Boated 1 38", and my partner missed 3. The weather was absolutely terrible!

Tomcat, went to star but they double booked our cabin, which we found out after we settled in and launched the boat. The people who showed up later were regulars so they said we had to leave. They offered us another deal which would not work for us so we spent the night in a motel and found a place on the manitowish chain which was on our short list of resorts to go. Since we did not bring that info along we had to drive around to the chambers, which were all closed and get what info they leave out. Was a real fun start to our trip and we had to throw out alot of food we bought at the grocery store becase of the resort's mixup. The cabin at running bear resort ended up being much nicer anyway.

Hey Tom,

No man, I was out alone and no one near by to ask to help out with the picture taking, so I put the fish in the Jacuzzi (live well with continuous running water) and just idled back to the dock.

How have things been in the Hoosier state bud? I have heard that Webster is basically void of any weed growth? Take care man.

Muskie Fishing on Northern LOTW's has been great this year. I have heard of lots of fish been caught and have done well myself. I have three fish in the boat for 3 days of fishing. Should have had alot more though. Have had a some bad luck with fish shaking off lures. I lost one that was atleast 40 lbs or more. Seeing lots of fish too. I can't wait untill fall.

Fished a Land O Lakes body of water this past weekend. 2 fish 2 legals on Sunday (8-24-03) Both came on Magnum Musky Killers with silver flecked Mogumbo tails. Not too bad considering the bad t-storms we had Saturday night .

Fish a twin cities metro lake for the first time in about three weeks - had three stikes and two hooks-ups in 2 hrs. Lost one close to 50. Maybe all that heat is getting them moving? The best fishing of the year is almost upon us!
