Hey guys,

This is my first time going to Leech Lake. A buddy and I are heading
up there for muskies and walleyes. Some tips and baits that work would be
appreciated and locations to go fish would help. Is there any good camping
sites. How is the Walker Bay area for muskies around this time of year.
We'll be up there over labor day weekend. Also how are bulldawgs. Also
do the muskies up there prefer smaller baits compared to larger baits.

Hopefully Murph will spot this and answer in time. I Have fished the lake about a dozen times, and love it. I fish the rocky shores on the 2 to 6' break alot, doing well with bucktails and spinnerbaits. Walker Bay has been good to me with jigs, for all species there. Topwater and Reef Hawgs can be great on the weedlines, and this is the time of the year Leech just starts to really rock.

This may sound silly, but there are lots of little man made coves that are protected docking areas for boats. We did very well two Septembers ago fishing the approaches and the mouths of those little coves with bucktails. Wish I had my map in front of me to jog the memory, darn it. I am on the road right now. Really like that water, for sure, and the pike fishing can be absolutely wonderful. In fact, my avatar pic is a Leech lake release, caught with Tommy Mac a couple years ago. I was staying at Huddles.

Bulldawgs have worked for myself on leech. There is a nice campground and access and I think it's at Stony point.
