| Tackle Warehouse is having a deal on these reels for 150 bucks so I need to know if anyone has gotten one of the new versions and how it holds up. I know the old green joints were built like tanks but I haven't heard much about the new silver ones. Do they meet the test of serious musky anglers ? Will the 7.2/1 ratio burn up in after a summer of burning 10's? Holler at me with whatever info you guys have on them.

Location: Apparently where the Muskie aren't | 200i ?!?!?! You might burn that thing out with 2 casts with a double 10. That my friend is a bass reel. I have one for bass fishing and I'm extremely happy with it but it's definatly not a double 10 burner. |

Location: oswego, il | Would be a great small musky bait reel. I am sure it could reel double tens and might even hold up but your not going to like reeling them in with a high gear ratio and no cranking power.

| The more I read about it the more I tend to agree with that. They say it has the same gear and pinion set-up as the tranx and Calcuttas but it must not nearly be as beefy. I was gonna just skimp and try it out and if it burned up then I wasn't out much but I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and go with something that can take the punishment. |

Location: Southwest PA | If you want to spend $150 on a musky reel, the Abu Garcia MaxToro is your best bet. I have used this reel and was shocked at what you can get out of it for such a good price point! Not to mention, that is the MSRP. They can be found for cheaper when sales get involved! |

| I'm predominately an Abu guy ... I started out on Ambassadors and now I'm using an NaCl and they are great, don't get me wrong but I'm trying to branch out away from Abu and see if the grass is greener.

Location: oswego, il | I wouldn't put 65lb braid on it. 30 or 40lb. I have a revo toro s bass reel i use on my flipping stick with 30lb braid and throw small baits with it. Caught fish up to 48" with it. Short fights too. If the equiptment is matched properly you could use that reel for muskies. |

Anytime I Fish 30lb or 40lb Braid on a baitcaster reel l get lots of line Dig in on the spool. I try to keep the line tight on the spool but it digs in badly on the spool. 50lb is the smallest I use on any Bait caster !!

Location: oswego, il | Understand i am not throwing big baits, 4-6" like the 4" shad shaped crane small gliders, ect but weigh 2 oz or less.
I have a garcia torno with 50lb, has the innards of the round reels, i will throw bigger stuff with that one and put it on my 8ft premere mh. I also have calcutta 200b and 250 that have seen musky action. |
