| Hey guys just wondering what the poll is on how many lures you bring out on a single day of fishing? I have a ranger 681vs and my dry storage is filled with plano 3630's. and a just incase in front of the deck. Lacking in room on this 681vs that I just bought. |

Location: Southwest PA | Right on the money Todd! I bring my lakewood monster with me as my storage for it all, but fill planos into my "go bag" the night before. If a pattern arises that day, I will reconfigure the selection into my "go bag" upon lunch, if I get off the water for it, or do so that night in preparation for the next day. It took me a full year to learn this though, I believe my go bag is a gander mountain bag. My shoulders and back are very thankful for me wising up.

| When I lived on the Chip, I could usually fish productively with 7 different lures if I hadn't been out for a while, or 4, if I knew pretty much where they were. |

| I usually bring about 6 to 8 bucktails, 4 or 5 topwaters, and 3 or four rubber-type baits.
I'll change up from day to day. |

Location: Contrarian Island | if I'm hopping in a buds boat for the day I would bring 4 to 10 baits...whatever I didn't bring I'm sure they have! often times if just for the night I will bring 2 rods w a lure on each and be fine...but in my boat at any given time might be 400 lures

| My gear in my bass boat is two milk crates with 25 tubes each to hang baits and a tote with 35 tubes, three deep 3700 trays with leaders, handles, and small baits, I have more than 1 lure in most so I have about 200 baits myself and have another area for partners gear, another tote for 35 tubes and 2 deep 3700 boxes. Everything needs to be inside the deck on a bass boat or it won't stay aboard. and this all fits with life jackets, throwable, paddle, and everything else to rain gear and 30 rods.
If I'm jumping in my buddy's boat I have them trained in tote/rain gutter storage as I prefer and have at least a milk crates worth of room to use and 2-3 rods for me depending on weather and how serious we are vs going with the wives and relaxing...

| I've got 3 Just Encase deck boxes in my Lund 1750 and 6 or more Plano storage boxes as well. I just wish I had room for 1 more bait in my boat, you know the one that WORKS! |

| Can depend on where I am fishing. If I am on a chain of lakes or a large body like Vermillion or LOW and plan to be out all day I would probably bring my entire Lakewood Tackle Box. Otherwise I will limit to what I can fit in my Just Encase pedestal box (12 or so). |

| I'm gonna start limiting the lures I bring. My 681vs is packed full. gonna limit to 5 3700's and a just encase. |

| Howdy,
I downsized my tackle so that ALL of it can fit in my boat. My plan in doing so was to increase my time on the water by having every compartment filled with everything I could ever need. That way I wouldn't have to mess around deciding what to take for a species, time of year, technique, etc.
The same was true for rods as I tried to reduce that total down to twenty for all species, techniques, etc.
And.......I still don't fish anymore than I used to.
Take care,
Ruddiger |

Location: Black Creek, WI | Yes, limiting what you bring is the best solution. Since you are using Plano boxes already, should be an easy adjustment for you. Even 3 planos should be enough to cover most scenarios/conditions you will encounter. On longer trips, carry all your stuff in the truck and custom tailor your planos for each day or lake you plan to fish. I fished from a 681 for 14 years and never had an issue with lack of storage for my musky lures. I plugged my livewell and used that as dry storage for life jackets and other gear. |
