| I recently purchased an 04 esox mag, and I'm thinking about replacing some of the carpet and possibly reinforcing the front compartment.
Does anyone have any experience on how to reinforce a fiberglass compartment lid? The front compartment is feeling a little mushy.
Also, has anyone successfully replaced the cockpit carpet with vinyl flooring? If so, please share any tips... how did you mount it.
Thanks for the help! | |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The lid on that compartment is resting against a rubber gasket, which is why it pushes in a bit. It's an aluminum lid, not FRP.
Take out the carpeting on the floor, make sure the surface is cleaned up, and use the adhesive the vinyl manufacturer recommends. Floors are easy, decks not so much. | |
