| Hi All,
I am looking for some advice on teloscopic rods. I am considering one as my boat only has rod storage for 8 foot rods and I have broke a tip or two from keeping the out when not being used and during travel. I don't know much about the quality of teloscopic rods and if they are worth it or if I should find a new solution. The rod will be paired with a tranx HG. Thanks in advance for all the help.

| I have no issues with tackle industries and shimono compre telescopic rods, others I do not know. They work great. |

| i was skeptical about this as well for a long time and finally broke down, purchased a TI XXH 10 footer. in short, you won't be disappointed, solid rod for sure, get it... |

| I have 2 Tackle Industries 9' telescopic rods, an XH and an XXH. I throw everything from 2-16oz on those rods. These perform like a one piece rod, you'd never know they were telescopic. Great customer service and a no questions asked lifetime warranty. Get one. Or three... |

| I have Okuma and TI telescopic rods and they work well. Only issue I ever had was in late fall, below freezing where some moisture must have got between the two sections and had to bring the rod inside for a bit before it would collapse for transport. |

Location: Land of the Musky | One nice thing about our TI musky rods is that we matched the actions to the one pc rods too. So, if you have a 1pc TI rod its should perform almost exactly like the 1pc rods.

| I just had a telescopic rod snap in half in the middle of the foregrip on a 4# northern. The rod was nearly new. To get a new one I need to pay a warranty fee and pay postage. I may ask if I can get a one piece rod instead for my replacement. Another buddy of mine had issues with a hand full of telescopic rods from another company. I'm not sure I trust them anymore. |

| I have had the chance to build on the TI blanks over the past few months. From a rod builder’s perspective, the TI telescoping blank matches up in action to their one piece blanks just like James said. The telescoping function has a ferrule that locks firmly into place without any movement and compacts without any issues.
The biggest surprise for me was the overall weight. TI has built a reputation for their durability and normally that is achieved by adding more material, which adds weight. The 9-6 XXH telescoping rod I built for the Muskiefirst, Tackle Industries, and Pro Edge contest built with a split grip, syncork handle, and stamped frame guides had a completed weight of 12.5 ounces. Not bad for a stick that can throw that amount of lure weight. I built one for myself for the very same reasons stated in the post that started this thread.

Location: Racine, Wi | Been throwing telescoping Okumas for years and never had an issue with them. I wouldn't hesitate to throw a telescoping rod at all.

A good 2pc rod is VERY strong. Heck, most ocean rods are 2pc rods and they are catching 500lb plus fish. TI has had less than 5 2pc rods break at the joint in 6 years. Not a telescopic rod but a true 2pc musky rod too... Some get them mistaken. |

Top notch rods with no issues of any kind.
