I've heard good things about Pioneer and just wondering if you can give me any info on this Lake. Is early June a good time to go? Quantity vs quality, etc.

We had a place on Pioneer as a kid till I was 21. Cut my teeth fishing out there in what was a low density trophy lake. Really nice cabbage line rims that lake with nice turns on the west and nw side of the lake. Also the horseshoe between the islands can be good. There isn't stocking out there, with the fish coming from north/south twin creek or up from the Wisconsin river through pioneer creek. That lake put out a number of high 30 to 40 lb fish in the 70s and 80's with most of them being kept and mounted at the couple of resorts on the lake. I remember a particular 53" giant being brought in when I was about 11 years old. The woman was fishing alone and had to row to shore to beach the fish. It won the musky marathon that year if I'm not mistaken. I haven't fished it in 15 years. Drop me a pm for any specifics you'd like.
