Howdy, does anyone know how muskies relate to dams? More specifically, the upstream/lake side, not the outflow. On shallower lakes or flowages, I know they're there, I just don't know when. Also on the taller highland(?) type, where they stick a concrete wall in a steep valley, you've got water 150 feet deep or so at the face, do they relate to the face at all, or avoid it? I've never seen anything written about this.

Can't help you much with how muskies relate to a dam. I don't have any lakes near me that have dams that I fish. But here's a cool vid that somewhat relates to your topic. It's muskies pretending to be salmon lol. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jMQK4chHjiM

When I watched it I thought two things

1. How do they (the musky) know there is more water up there? Obviously they know water is coming from somewhere but how do they know it's only a few feet and they could make it?

2. Man, I would love to throw a bucktail in there.

Yes muskies love current and dam faces. They will relate to both.
