How'd the muskies treat you this weekend in MN? Our two boats saw two all day. We only converted one...42". Tough!

I did not make it out over the weekend. A few buddies of mine were out, and they said it was pretty tough, as well. Sounded like the boating traffic was pretty insane in the metro with the weather we had. I'm planning on getting out a few times this week to get a bead on what's going on. The first one of the year is always the toughest - nice job on getting the 42"!

Fished most of the day on Saturday and boated 2, lost 1. Yesterday I was craving a fish fry so chased walleyes all day. Just hooked the boat up now and will be out for the remainder of the day.

What a teaser,,,on the third cast had about a 46 hit the bait twice and had him hooked for a few seconds,,we ended up seeing 5 other fish,,,on Sunday we went out 11- 3 in about has bluebird a sky has possible,,we saw about 8, couple were aggressive but did not hit ,,XL dive and rises moved most of them,,,4 years ago we had 46 follows and 3 fish on opener the year before 41 follows and 4 fish,,the drop in stocking numbers is hitting hard.

Started out good right away Saturday morning with a 47.5" in the bag, and then saw just one more the next several hrs.

Awful, 12 hours on the water between the two days with no follows. I saw 2 sunbathing in some sand that thought my lures were Muskie repellant... Going to get a few hours in tomorrow and all day Thursday so hoping a little less boat traffic helps put the first one in the net. Missed two in WI last Thursday, now those two are all the more heartbreaking.

Hooked 1 trolling a shallow raider on Saturday. Didn't manage to get him in the boat and saw nothing on Sunday. HOT!

Weekend was rough weather wise, rain all night Friday and then hot and windy saturday/sunday. About 20 follows with 1 fish in the bag, 35.5". Ate about 20' out. Almost all that came in were super low and super slow.

Just wrapped up my 4th outing (metro). We've raised a dozen or so, had a few hits on rubber, but it's been rough. Haven't seen anything over 40-42

Only been out twice since opener (metro) - boated a ~40" on the first outing and saw a few others. Last night was a bust, despite the near perfect conditions. Spoke to one other boat at the ramp and they had similar results.

So far we've hit Mille Lacs, Minnetonka and Independence. Got bit on every lake, but the action overall has been slow. I lost a really big Muskie on Independence when I busted the anti-reverse drive bearing in the reel. Its hard fighting a big fish that way and I ended up losing it. Fish haven't been following much for us so far this year. Its been mostly occasional bone crushing strikes that has left me with a busted rod and a busted ABU 6500 reel. Chartruse/black spinner baits with 5" white plastic grubs have been the ticket for us so far. CJs, Rad Dogs and Candy Spins have all been good.
