| My tilt/trim works but makes a clicking noise. Any ideas why?

| Sounds a bit like it could be some sort of connection breaking in the trim relay or trim switch itself. Is the sound coming from the trim motor itself or from the controls? |

| The clicking is from the trim solenoid. I'm surprised it's still working if you can hear it clicking. |

| I had a pivot bushing go bad on my 150 mercury efi where the motor pivots up and down one time. It made a clicking noise when i ran the tilt trim it was an easy cheap fix. It might be worth looking at wear items first instead of jumping straight to the big buck items.....lol |

| Once they start clicking could stop working at any point...Mine did this last year replaced whole trim tilt cylinder and it was around $150 I believe...have you check the fluid levels |

| The solenoids themselves are only about $15 each and it is fairly easy to do yourself. So don't worry, the relay solenoids are not a big buck item. If you have a decent level of mechanical aptitude it is not too hard to figure out. Is it clicking going up, down, or both directions? Because there is a separate solenoid for each direction. I can't imagine a dealer would charge more than a couple hours labor if you were to bring it in. Took me less than an hour to replace mine last spring.

| It could also be just the roller balls on the rams. I had to grease mine and the noise stopped. Check that first. |
