How did you do this Saturday and Sunday? Any success chasing down a 'ski?

We fished a lake I had never been to Saturday evening. We saw 5 and stuck a 34 on Buckskin. Clear water, nice weeds, and easy to fish.

Yesterday we went to Moen, and stuck a 48.5. Saw two others, both missed a Pacemaker.

Steve, it sounds like you had a great weekend. I fished the Toilet bowl aka fox chain on Sat morning from 5-11:30am. Not even a sighting, water temp was 71 degrees. The wind was 15 mph from the NE, it was in the upper fifies when we started. Not sure if the small cold from or the wind, Oh well I got "Chained" again!

Steve,

Did you have most of your action on Buckskin between the islands? Jim K and I fished it in early July and had a bunch of follows and a couple of hook ups. It's a very strange lake, very clear and extremely shallow except for the deep hole in the middle. We had all our action during a hot sunny afternoon on bucktails.

On Le Bowl both Saturday and Sunday.
From 5am - 10 am Saturday and didn't see a fish. Sunday got fed up by 9am and called it a day.

Did see three guys trying to land a low 30" musky with a small bass sized net. That was interesting. At one point the fish was completely out of the water head over one side of the hoop tail over the other. They were unable to land the fish. Lots of excitement and screaming and yelling. Somewhat comical.

Many houseguests this last weekend, able to get out for only 3 hours on Sunday morning. One follow from a fat low 40"s fish. She followed a weighted Suick in Bright Ornage w/ Black Spots. Water temps in the low 70s, perhaps the fish are going to begin moving earlier this year than last year? (Hey, a good question to pose on it's own thread.)

12/12 on the Big Pond Saturday morning, with 1 18 lb King, and a nice Brownie. Made a couple nice jumps!

32" on Pewaukee last night.

3 of us in two different boats fished thursday 7-midnight, Fiday am and pm, Sat am and pm, and Sunday am without any of us as much as seeing a fish! How discouraging. Moon phases were suppose to be good. No major whether patterns though? Tried mid lake humps, weed lines (extreme shallow to deep), open water, creek mouths, everything! Was fishing a 500 acre lake in Northern Oneida county. Saturday morning was cool with the complete white blanket of fog, could not go over idle speed. Talked with one walleye fisherman who saw a muskie porpoising.

Fished Pewaukee on Sat. Got a nice fat 46"er. Had one other hot follow casting. Chased the figure 8 around 5 or 6 times, and would not hit. I will post pics of the 46 once I get them back. Trolled for 4 hours without a rip. Went out on Sunday, and trolled for 5 hours. Shallow, deep and inbetween. Nothing!. It was sunny and calm in the mornings. Sounds like I should have gone in the evening according to Shep.
Good Lungen,
Joel

Tuffy1,

As far as I know, nobody else did much Sunday night. I only went out because I thought DaveJ and the Extreme One were going to be out, and I have some stuff for Dave. I trolled from 3:30 PM until almost 9:00, with only the one hit to show for it. Talked to a couple guys at the launch afterward, and they had and heard of nothing caught. Full moon rose at 7:43, so I wasn't about to stay too much past then.

Congrats on the 46!

Thanks Shep! Good to know that I wasn't the only one. We'll have to get togeather for a cervesa sometime at the H2O front. I have been in the Milwaukee chapter for 3 years now, and don't know very many of you guys. Stop by and say hi if you see me on the water. It's the maroon and grey tuffy, being pulled (before it hits the water) by a maroon Exploder.
Good lungen,
Joel

Joel,

I think I've seen you out there. In fact, I'm pretty sure I saw you last Monday, when I was in the Extreme Ranger!

I have the Red Lund, Merc 135, and the mast with the Flag on it. I usually monitor CH 69, and usually have a Miller or 12 in the cooler. Stop by anytime if you see me. Next time out, I'm thinking Okauchee.

We caught two small 30" fish, one was a hump back. Mine was on a new kick assed surface bait made by h2os2t.
