When I was at the musky expo i really liked the St. Croix Elite Musky rods. I decided that I would build a couple. Looking through all my usual vendors and nobody even lists it. So I call St. Croix and yes I can get the blank. They will be in April 8th. So I call back ans set up my order. All the blanks are accounted for. I must have misunderstood the lady on the ordering process. So she tells me the next set of 5 blanks is available on April 22nd. I order and pay for 2. Last week after not receiving my blanks I called and was told the shipment did not come in and may be in on May 6th but he wasn't sure. They did a small redesign on the rod. I asked why I wasn't notified about the delay and he told me that they wouldn't have known about it either unless I would have inquired. I have $900 into 2 blanks, guides, reel seats, and cork with no idea when I may get the blank. The guy I talked to said that he would call me if there was another change. Customer service has always been great with them but it seems like they are less concerned about the customer satisfaction of the builder vs. the buyer.

Relatively new product. I can tell you from experience ramping up production lines going into the season brings all sorts of surprises. Disappointing to see it slide a month and you should be frustrated. If they're in an allocation situation and have to choose between shipping out Thorne's spring order or 2 blank to an individual customer, you can imagine how that goes.

I'd stop by Thorne or give them a call to see if they have any insight into what's going on. They're usually pretty connected with the factory. If it slips anymore, I'd try to get a hold of the product manager.

I had one built on that blank at the Thorne Spring sale and Lonnie communicated that they are having challenges getting the blanks in. Not that it helps with the frustration, but you are not alone.
