Ok -

This may be a really stupid question but how can I tell which HDS 10 I have?

I got the boat from my buddy. The units are black and I know the HDS 7 which I know is Gen 1 I had on my old boat were a gray color with blue HDS lettering.

So can I assume that the HDS 10 Gen 1 is also gray so that would mean I have Gen 2?

I have the units here at home but the boat is in storage so I cannot plug it in at all.

The only reason I care is that with Gen 2 I can share one chip between two units whereas with Gen 1 I cannot share. Trying to determine if I need one or two new chips.

Location: Eastern Ontario		Gen 2 has white lettering
