| Wondering if the jigging handle engages on the cast if you use the longest setting. I haven't tried it yet, hoping someone can tell me from experience which position will keep the reel from engaging. I'll be using it for 10's. |

| Howdy,
As far as using the middle position on the jigging handle, what makes this the sweet spot? Obviously weight distribution, etc, however, is it that noticeable using the middle vs. the last position?
Logically, one would assume ANY jigging handle, regardless of position, will engage at some point without taking some precaution on the cast such as positioning the handle down before casting or keeping your thumb on the thumb bar during the cast.

| In the middle position the reel will not engange if you forget to put the handle down. In the last position it can engage. I put it in the middle position to "dummy proof it." My Dad is 70 and just started musky fishing and I played with the settings and came up with the middle while trying to engange the reel. He forgets a lot but didn't engange the reel once last year in the middle position. And it pulls blades up to 10's easily for him. I hope that helps. |

| All this info is great, thanks everyone! I'm gonna try it on the last position and see if I can get in the habit of thumbing it. If not, I'll go to the middle position. |

Location: mercer wi | I try to remember to keep the handle down when casting. Also you don't need to be a super man caster. Nice and easy, let the rod do its job. Middle hole for me |

| Howdy,
For those of you who have tried both positions, how big of a difference is there between the resistance on the last handle setting vs the second hole setting? I would assume it's noticeable due to the added length but maybe not.

Location: St. Lawrence River | Lmao it's definitely not impossible. I've had a pre-mature engagement using the middle slot on the jigging handle... so yes, it can happen. Biggest factor, as mentioned, don't cast it like Sammy Sosa. Nice and easy. I was really putting the coals to 'er when it happened to me. |
