| What size jerkbaits, and is it meant to be a "jerkbait" only rod ?

Location: Shawano, Wi | Jerkbait only rod what I have now is a Veritas toro 8' H paired with a revo toro s. Seems to be alright but maybe a XH would be better |

| 7.5 Extra heavy would be better for larger glides and phantoms, hellhounds, mantas, etc. however I cannot make a squirko or undertaker type lure dance with the stiffer rod. I need to use a lighter action slightly longer rod for those baits. Maybe it's just me, but I believe it's going to depend on what you intend on throwing with the rod and how far from the water your deck is. You may already have what you need. |

| I really like the Big Nasty and Custom X 9'XXH for jerkbaits. I personally don't find rod length to be an issue when using jerkbaits but if you prefer the shorter length rods I've heard good things about the st croix jerk models |

| If you have the Big Nasty i would 100% recommend "The Jerk" i have both and really think they compliment each other well, to throw almost everything.

| Really stiff, almost like a pool cue, some would say. |

Location: MN | I like a 7ft rod I like the fact that I can work the rod downward in a tapping motion, I feel I have more control and am always ready to set the hook. I have been using a TI 7ft XXH and just added the XH this year. I don't know if he is still selling these but boy are they a great jerkbait rod nice and stiff but when you got to set the hook it loads really well and keeps the fish pinned down. If I was a taller man I might think about a 7'6'' but I am as God made me a little guy so 7' perfect. |

I totally agree I am 6ft tall and I use a 7ft for my jerkbaits as well...just as stated like to be able to work rod down with tapping motion as well and longer the rod harder this is to do... |

| I use a 7'6'' st croix mojo heavy. Awesome jerbait rod. I also like to work the tip downwards towards the water and this length is perfect for me. The heavy action still lets me work the bait and cast it far, while giving solid hook sets. |

X2 except I use a Premier Heavy. Love it for this application and for the reasons mentioned by Smithy97 |

| 7'9'' H-2 TB Predator. Awesome glider rod.
Not as stiff as the LT, but I get a lot of good pop out of the tip. Plus I don't throw many big gliders. |

| Musky Innovations Pro Series 7'6"XH is the best Jerkbait rod that I have used, I sell a ton of them to customers. Great for all jerkbaits, Big Joe's and walk the dog topwater.

Location: Contrarian Island | personally I prefer an 8 footer, used an 8' all star for 15 yrs last year went to the 8' top n tail from st Croix for side to side stuff... works great... for big jerkbaits like a mega barfighter/intimidator I use my 9' big nasty |

Curious as to why you picked the top n tail over the jerk? Was gonna get the jerk but whyd you pick the top n tail. Will be mostly throwing 6oz glide baits with I already have a big nasty. |

Location: Contrarian Island | main reason was I wanted an 8 footer, instead of a 7'6"... I tried the top n tail for side to sides and loved it so bought one... |

| I'd go with something 6' 9" or 7'. But my deck isn't as high as some of the newer boats. I think you can make em dance better with a shorter rod. |

Location: Contrarian Island | Disagree as I prefer working them to the side not down. Better and faster hooksets... |
