John, last I heard was the 12th and Shep was checking with the lodge to see if they can join in. Are you on the American plan or Housekeeping? m

You can bring crawlers. They must be in bedding, not dirt. And when they ask you if they are in bedding or dirt, don't answer "Yes"!

Jason, I will be getting the maps tonight.

I will be leaving Friday afternoon, and have to drop off the kids in Adams at Gramma's. Should hit Baudette sometime around 9:00 AM and then get Breakfast and Groceries I forgot here. I don't go all the way to IF. I cut across a little south. I'll look up the town and post. Seems like Orr is the town.

OK, let's schedule the chat for the 13th, 8:00 PM CDT. Unfortunately, Grant will not be able to join us. They do not have web access at the lodge, and that is where theey are all week. I talked with Grant yesterday, and he is sending the updated list of depositers. He also said they have 9 50'+ fish in the camp this year. We're gonna up that total!

It looks like there is 4 people who have dropped out as of now. Ranger, Ish, EsoxManiac, and Musky Medic. Is this all, I hope? If anybody knows of someone wanting to go, I suggest they contact one of these folks, and make arrangements to buy their deposits from them, as deposits are not refundable.

Steve, Great!

Hope Troy can make it. Teck, not to worry. There will be plenty of us there, if not more than a month ago! I'm trying to get ahold of Gene Daul, as MuskyMedic's back is forcing him out.

Mauser and I will be at the casino at Cass Lake Friday night (8/22); I think Papa Joe and his crew are meeting us there for a convoy to the border Saturday morning. Anyone else who wants to use Cass as a jumping off point, the Palace's number is 800.442.3910.

Shep, if we have questions for Grant, can we post them here and get his reply? We will need to rent a boat at least a couple days and I've seen prices from $45 to $75 to $90 per day; which one is correct? Do they have weekly rates? How are cabin assignments being made and how many per cabin? Just that kinda stuff.
Thanks a bunch for taking the lead on this, my friend. See you very soon. m

Hi Mikie,
Looks like we can't leave Minneapolis until Saturday morning...

I also couldn't get an anwer about rental boats price, however I did reserve one and confirmed that I have one reserved when I talked to the nice lady from SB Lodge at the MPLS Muskie Show.

Also, Ranger has sent along some tackle for you...

See ya there,
Papa

OK,
I know I'm the one that started this whole chat thing but, my daughters softball team plays for the league championship tonight. I still do have some priorities. I'll try to get back and catch the end of it.

Slamr, any chance you could expedite the posting of the chat session???

I just have a feeling I'm gonna forget something.

DaveJ call me sometime this week. I'll be at home in the evenings, cell during the day. We need to set up meeting place etc. I am off the Friday before we leave if your planning on bugging out early. Rumor has it that we are supposed to meet Shep and possibly Worrall on the way up to caravan. Need to work out times and locations.

Theedz,

If you have any specific questions, send them to me, and I will bring them up.

I am planning on leaving Milwaukee around 3:00 PM Friday, and have drop off the daughter at mom-in-laws in Adams. Then it's on the way! Probably hit the road around 7:00 PM or so from there. Then to Baudette for breakfast, gas up, hit the grocery, and then across the border! Can't get there too early, or I'll drive myself nuts waiting to launch!

Actually, Shep, we were told there are a couple good-sized grocery stores in Rainy River, Ont. We were gonna hit them to get the benefit of the Americun Dollar exchange rate and the sales-tax rebate; and avoid the hassle of being strip-searched for bootleg US potatoes! m

Just want to wish you guys good luck, I wish I was able to get back up there, also be careful I just got my boat back from a rock taking a bite out of my lower unit ($3,900.00 thanks for insurance)from my trip to LOTW. Also, if anyone makes it a two day drive, Midway motel in Virgina is good place to stay and is reasonable, going up there from Chicago we usually stop and then it is only a 2 1/2 hour drive from there to Morson. I do suggest to make reservations, one year we thought we didn't need to and found out the paper mill in Fort Frances shut down for re-tooling and every motel within a 75 mile radius was booked. Good Fishing, Al
