Location: Jamestown, Pa. | I am leaving next week on the 7th for Fort Wayne to visit with my daughter and family. I have only been on Webster once and this will be the only time this year and I want to try and put my son-in-law into his first musky. I'm not asking for anyones hotspot but if anyone could tell me if the lake is producing and if topwater and jerk baits or trolling would be the way to go I would very much appreciate it. Hoping to fish it on the 8th or 9th if he got his boat fixed. Hope to run into some of you over there. I will be wearing a brown bucket hat and sporting a trimmed gray beard.
Thanks guys for any help.

Location: Syracuse, Indiana | Your best bet for Webster now is probably trolling open water looking for active fish around schools of shad. I also suggest night fishing to avoid the pleasure boating crowd. Make sure you have a weed catcher in front of your bait - expect lots of floating weeds.
Casting remains an option. I CPR'd a 45.5" about 2 weeks ago casting the first weed break. Caught and released not too far from swimmers, skiers buzzing me, pleasure boaters coming practically on top of my boat to see what I had on, and too close to some obnoxious tool who wanted me to kill it.
Tippecanoe Lake remains an option, but it can be hit or miss. I'm told the Barbee Chain has been producing, but I haven't been there recently.
I have a few baits I'd like repainted. When is a good time of year to get them to you?
Good luck. |

Thank you for your help. I don't know much about Indiana and it's lakes so I don't know where the lakes you speak of are located from Fort Wayne. I have only been on Webster once and that was last year with Ben Clendening. Cold as h### but had agreat time of it. Met a lot of great musky hunters.
You can send them in anytime and I can get on them within three days. I am procecessing some orders now that I just got the blanks in for and they will be done by the time you get yours in.
I will be leaving for Fort Wayne Thursday morning and coming home Sunday morning. Should we not catch anything I will still enjoy the outing as they don't come as often for me due to the shop. So just getting out to fish in itself is a real treat to me but of course a nice catch is always a plus.
Thanks,

Location: Syracuse, Indiana | Tippe and Barbee are within a few minutes of Webster, and are part of the same watershed. Good luck! |
