Location: Bloomington, MN | This question is in a class of it's own. My friend had a Yamaha 225 on a Lund 2025, and now has the 300 Verado on a 621. He misses the old boat due to what he states is an overly sensitive engine. I've never been in it and have limited time on a 70 hp Suzuki on my end. He has had no problems with it, but minimal time on the water. Check with the Walleye Tournament guys, they may have a better opinion. | |

| Howdy,
I have a 2016 522D with a 300 Verado Pro and test drove the prototype with a 300 Gen2 E-Tec. While both were very nice motors, I preferred the Verado for many of the reasons some people like four strokes over two strokes. That said, I'm sure you will be happy with either.
Take care,

| I have a 2015 621FS with the 300 G2. I bought boast used so only have 1 yr. under my belt on this motor. Very Powerful motor!! it has a quick hole shot, good top end, and good power belt in big waves. Was really impressed in the big waves (3-5 footers) on green bay, and lake Erie. Was able to feather the throttle and have plenty of torque when needed to power up the big swells. Although it is more quite than a normal 2 stroke growl, it is definitely not nearly as quite as the Verados I have been around. Here are my #'s with a Rx4 22 pitch prop with 3 people, full tank gas 56 gallons, and fully loaded with equip.
Top End 52 mph (could have trimmed more but I don't like to push it)
Cruise speed @ 35-38 mph I got roughly 3.6 mpg
