Since abu is no longer making the nacl and winch I am deciding between three reels the abu revo toro S, the shimano Calcutta400d and the diawa lexa 400 (unsure, lexa felt like it was shaped weird and it was a little uncomfortable). So my question is what reel do you guys like best or recommend. I'm not afraid of a little hard work because I do throw some big baits like double 10s and even some double 13s. So as long as the reel itself can handle baits like this I'm not to worried about the fatigue they put on me. I just want to make sure I'm buying a quality reel that will last a while. Feel free to suggest other reels as well. Thanks!!!

I'm also looking for some new trolling rods (specifically shimano TDR's) if you can help me with that or have any input I will link it here: http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=11...

400d. I have been runnin one for almost 4 full seasons and it has been bulletproof. I added a powerhandle to it and can crank double tens quite well.

Just looked up tranx400. lol I guess it's a rumor but I would defiantly get one if they made it and dropped the price about $100.

Guys are really like the Okuma Komodo series. And the they now have a 400 size.
I used a 364 for half the season on my jerkbait rod and loved it.

It is not a rumor.... they are launching the Tranx 400 and Tranx 300 in March. And they are more like $200 cheaper.

Where can I find information on the tranx 400 and 300 I spent about half hour googling it with no results. If you have a link you could post that would be great. Thanks for clearing that up because if they do launch a new tranx that will defiantly be something I want to look into.

That 400d is a very nice reel & you cant beat the price-----I am going to try the ABU S Model myself this season--- I have heard good things about them so while I will keep my SHIMANO 400b & 400d I am going to give the S a shot to win me over.

I think I'm going to end up going for the S too. It seems like more I think about it the more reels I consider lol. I really like the 400d and I've even come to like the Luna 300 but I think a low profile would fit me better.

I currently run Revo toro S's, a few beasts, and a Lexa 400. For your application without question I would go with the toro S. Still wishing I owned a Tranx.
