I'm looking to get some new trolling rods and don't want to break the bank. I've read a lot of good things about the TDR's but my question is what length and power should I get I was looking at either the 8'6" MH/9'MH or the 8'H. The biggest/hardest pulling baits I will run are going to be legend perchbaits. I'm not going to run them at 6mph but a steady speed of 3.5-4.5 is about what I run most of my baits at. Thanks!!!

Thank you for your feedback. I will defiantly go with the 8'H then. On a side note have you heard anything about the cabelas trolling reels I know they only run about $40 but like I said I'm trying to save money since I troll very little. Feel free recommend other low priced trolling reels too!

We used the Cabelas Linecounters trolling for kings on Lake Michigan and they didn't hold up well. Last year I found Daiwa Accudepth linecounters at Frank's Great Outdoors in Linwood, MI for $54 each. I bought 10 since. They were great for trolling on Green bay.

+2 on the TDR 8' heavies, they work well for everything from super shad raps to 12" headlocks. Heat shrink the foam handles and they will hold up well for a lot of trolling.
