E-TEC 10 year unprecedented warranty starts tommorrow. Thoughts on making other MFG raise theirs'?

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin		Depends if that triggers them getting a bigger share of the market. I don't think it will be an instant reaction from the others until they see an impact

While it depends on what all is covered, I would think others would have to consider that. I know when I bought a new Mercury 90 hp 4 stroke in '08, one thing I looked at was a five year comprehensive warranty, while the others, including the Merc Opti were at 3 yrs. If it truly is a full warranty for 10 yrs, I would think that would carry a lot of weight for folks who keep their boats that long.
