Location: Roseville, MI | Are there any planer boards that work well for Musky fishing? Trolling at high speeds( 4 to 8 mph) is the prefered way to fish. I have already bought and tried two sets of different boards, boat style and plastic duo board style. One couldn't handle going 4 mph the other flips in rough water. The only wood boards I have seen in stores are pretty expensive, and I don't want to buy them just to find out that they are no better than the plastic ones. Does any one have suggestions?

Location: oswego, il | I use the mr walleye boards and they work well. I have only trolled them up to 6mph and they handle that ok. My only two complaints would be the releases don't last very long and they are 10 bucks apeice. When I am out of clips i am going to adapt an offshore clip to it. When you make a sharp turn, you can stahl the inside board and when it takes off, it may dive staight down. I have minimized this by adjusting the weight to the rear on a board that sees alot of the inside turns. Does not seem to hurt it at all.
