Hi guys,

Heading up to the "Promised Land" tomorrow, but won't be driving the entire way in one day. Looking for motel recommendation for International Falls, MN or for Orr, Virginia, or Evelyth.

Just a simple (read cheap), place to crash for the night before going the rest of the way on Wednesday morning.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
"Jackpot" John Schroeder

There is a Super 8 in The Falls, and another in the Virginia/Eveleth area. The Falls Motel is a sleep cheap, I think, may try that one too.

I have stayed at both the Super 8 in IFalls and in Eveleth, and had no problems with either. My recollection is the nightly rate in IFalls was less. I have had problems with the IFalls Holiday Inn.

I can tell where not to stay. The Days Inn. We stayed there last year and had to get up and leave early because we could not stand the stink in the room. When we booked the room all they had was a smoking room. I'm a smoker and I couldn't even stand it.

I stayed at the Rambling Inn in I-falls about two weeks back. Nothing special but was Good enough for me. They have a web page to check out, do a search you should find it. Most places were booked a couple weeks prior but they had a room open.

Good luck!

hey guy I dont know the name of it but if you go up there blind theres a motel across the street from the taco johns that is about $30 a night and its clean but not deluxe and its just has you get in town on 53,,,if you called the chamber of commerce and asked for the motel across from taco johns and the old site of the flame strip bar they will know what it is,,,you wouldnt need a reservation if you just wanted to wing it

I stayed overnite at the Falls Motel in Int. Falls a couple of weekends ago on my way to LOTW. Nothing fancy, but didn't need anything more. Price was about $45 I think. They even picked me up at the airport when I arrived around midnite. Don't recall the number, but I got it from the IF chamber of commerce. I'm sure information would have it as well.
