Now that Berkley has taken anouther great line of the market, what are you using now? I will be trying out the new spiderline stealth. Has anyone else tried this line?
Thanks

| I'm still using Whiplash, but I'm also using the new Spiderwire Stealth in 80 lb and 50 lb test. It seems to be pretty good! I've not had any problems with it and it will soon be on all my reels. |

| Spider Wire Stealth is the same line as Whiplash only with teflon impregnated into it. If you liked Whiplash you should also like Stealth. |

Location: Iowa | I liked whiplash untill I had 30# on a bass rig and it kept snapping off while throwing buzzbaits or when I set the hook. I have now lost confidence in all sizes, however I never had any problems with the 80#. I now have Spectron on 2 reels, and still in debation what to put on the others. |

| A common "problem" with whiplash and Power Pro is going to thin. Both lines are very limp and will backlash easier than dacron or Tuff Line. This is one of the reasons to use 80 and 100lb.
Another line that is coming out is FireLine XDS which is made specifically for baitcast reels. The line is thicker than most super lines and since it's thermally fused it is much rounder so it layes on the reel better and doesn't dig in as easilly. It is also "stiffer" than other super lines so it doesn't backlash as easily. I have tried it in 65lb. and really like it. Now I finally have a replacement to th 50lb. FireLine that I liked so much and was discontinued a couple of years ago. |

| got a spool of the old stuff in 100 pound variety at Gander Mountain for 18 bucks, so I am set for the rest of this year and likely next.
HOWEVER, Reeds in Walker has Whiplash PRO, which seems to be the new line from Berkely.
Not sure what is different as I did not look too closely at it, but I am sure it is larger diameter than the old Whiplash per pound test.
Lots of people bought 65 pound Whiplash assuming it was similar to Tuffline, when it wasn't, you need 80 and 100 pound Whiplash for the lures we throw. THe old Whiplash is a smaller diamerter/per pound test than other super lines on the market, which seemed to cause a lot of problems....
I love Whiplash, I think it is the best line on the market, I was quite happy to see Berkely producing what I hope is a new and improved version - not that it needs any improving... |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I bought a couple spools of Gorilla Braid in 50 and 80# at Koeps in Nisswa, for $7 per spool. The diameter is perfect on the 50, and the line is VERY tough. I like it so far. |

Location: in the white boat | After my stash of Whiplash ran out I got some of the Gorilla Braid to play with and I really like it so far. I'm using the 50# stuff too. The big test comes next week on LOW. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Hey Jamie, I used the stuff for a week solid on the Goon without re-tying. The line and knot look new still. No fray at all, and casts like a dream. Never seems to backlash suddenly like the 65# Spiderwire does, and is priced right, for now. I am buying alot more before it goes up. Koepp's can ship, so Monday I use my Amex card for a non-business expense again... |

Location: oswego, il | How is the gorrilla braid for wetness? I went back to PP to keep my hands warm in the cold months, I am still not that satisfied with it. I ordered some stealth to try. |

Location: Pardeeville, WI | I use 80 and 100 pound Spiderwire Stealth and am very happy with it. I just picked up a spool of PowerPro 80# and that is great also.
I think I will stick with the Stealth because its cheaper. I will probably give that gorilla braid a shot also. There really isnt a wrong choice to make as long as you stick with 80# line or greater. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | ToddM, The Gorilla Braid I have here is pretty dry far as I can tell. It seems to be good line so far, tough, holds it's shape, and spools well. |
