Subject: those "equalizer"days (Murphys Law)

Got out last Wed and had one of those days where everything went wrong. First off. had to deal with some big winds for the lake i was fishing which made positioning very tough. We had our shots but every time some piece of equipment broke. First one was a Mania quick strike rig. the 7 strand crimp pulled apart on the hook set (second time for this) result no fishy.
Second time, my line snapped like two pound test on the hook set. The line broke about 3 feet from the reel with about 20 feet of line out. I quickly discovered a broken ceramic guide (on my Mania Rod) that cut the line like it was nothing. Result no fishy. I dont know what i did to piss of the Mania gods but jeez!!
We then had a third Muskie chasing around a sucker for a couple of minutes but would not bite. It had the sucker coming out of the water and bolting all over the place.
This day was the great equalizer from last weeks trip where everything went right. Oh well, these things happen. By the way, Bass Pro Shops readily let me exchange the rod for a new one so a bit of a feel good there.[:blackeye:]
