Location: Shoreview, MN | The other threads on low profiles bass reels has been really good, but I need a left-handed reel - and there are a lot fewer models to choose from in the under $100 price range. I use it with a 7' heavy bass rod to throw 6" Jakes, baby DR, candy spins, etc. especially in the early season. My 1st choice would be the Shimano Bantam/Curado but at $120 it's almost twice as expensive as the C3's I have on my musky gear.
Does anybody have any feedback on the Quantum Accurist ACS? It's only about $70 and comes left handed? Cabela's also sell the Prodigy in a left hand model but at ~$99 I'm thinking I'd probably just spend the extra $20 for the Curado.

Location: Kalamazoo, MI | I picked up curado up at a local shop here for $110. Ive seen sales online with them as low as $89.99. If you watch for a deal, they shouldnt be hard to find for ~$100.
So far im pretty pleased with the curado. I toss a lot of baby depth and shallow raiders. Lots of big spinners, bucktails, etc. It has handled everything with ease so far.
I went with the CU-201B5. My advice, dont get the 5:1 and definitely not the 3.8:1. The CU-201 should work out nice, I wish I had gotten that one instead of the B5. |

Location: oswego, il | Plenty of curado reels on ebay going for around 100 bucks and some a bit less used. Just do a search and they all pop up. The citica is nice too and a bit cheaper but only a 5:3 to 1 retrieve. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Sportsmans Guide has a Shimano Cruzar for $49, no idea if they have any in the 'other hand' model. Look ar www.sportsmansguide.com. They have a Lews for $60, and a Soidercast for $40, also. |

Location: Elkhart, IN | I have the Quantum Accurist ACS and then upgraded to a Curado. The Accurist is a decent reel, but when I pick up the Curado there is no comparison. Casting identical lures the Curado casts considerably further even with more brakes on. I typically keep the Curado with 4 brakes on just so I can put some muscle into the cast and not have to worry about it backlashing and it cast considerably further than the Accurist with just 2 brakes on. My own personal feelings are I wish I would have went with the Curado first because it is a better reel. BTW, the Curado I have is the 100b which is the smaller one and I landed a pretty thick 35" muskie (yes I know they get much bigget but that was my first) on the Curado and it was perfect. Drag was perfect and it never had any problems at all. If you can afford it the Curado is the ticket.

Location: MN | The curado has been a proven reel for many years while Quantum has had there share of problems. You won't be disappointed with the Curado and it will serve you well for many years.

| Obtain a Shimano Calyx, install the ABEC 5 High Performance upgrade kit and bingo, a SMOOTH casting reel, extremely similar to the Curado... |
