Location: Menomonie, WI | I will be heading up to Lake Holcombe August 17-20. Thiss will be my first time fishing this lake for Musky. Just wondering if anybody out there had some tips, wether it be spots, lures or whatever. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!!

That time of year Holcombe puts out some nice fish. It is stained water so the usual dark water bait colors will serve you well.
Nothing special about the baits needed here, the "usual" stuff all works pretty decent. That time of season they'll chase topwater and bucktails pretty well. It is also a lake that can be trolled so if your equipped for it you can "drag" baits around as well.
If you contact me before your trip I'll try to tune you in to any specifics I know of. Pretty area and there are some great other bodies of water near by...you should have a nice vacation. | |
