Whats your favorite jerkbait/glide bait to fish when fishing current?

I prefer to fish when I can cast up-current and work the bait with the flow but sometimes this isn't possible and several baits don't work right when fished across or into the current. Deep phantoms do an okay job but I have not found many others I feel good about.

10" softail phantoms work great because they are very heavy. I have had some success with these. Regular 6" and 7.5" softtails....not so much. The XL squirkos are also not bad.

Hellhounds seem to glide pretty well in all sorts of conditions. Their designed with a tight twitch which seems to overcome current for me anyway - - - -

Sounds like you've already gotten all the recommendation you need. 8" HH, 10" soft tail phantom and xl squirko are my go to "mass production" jerk baits in the fall. The xl is best glider for converting fish near the boat out of any I've ever used. I primarily only throw hellhounds in 1-3ft of water but will toss them out if there is a shallow to deep ledge and ride them high even in the deep part. xls and phantoms are for the deeper water and in strong current ill always prefer a 10" phantom. The bounce is always the same, and the fish seem to like it.

Yes I have a little hellpuppy that cuts across current great.
