Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I have been cleaning up my tackle box. I have many lures I feel like I do not use and just collect. What are the 10 to 15 lures and colors that are a must? I know there has been so old threads on this, but would like to get everyone's most recent opinions.
Thanks |

Location: North of Sweden! | my 10 in no particular order:
1. 10" Jointed Believer - "Firetiger" (though any color is good)
2. 8" Swim Whizz - 08 (that is the number of the color, perhaps it is called something like "pumpkin seed"?)
3. Poe's Giant Jackpot - "Perch Tiger" or "Black/Hot Belly"
4. Weighted Suick Thriller - "Red Hot Purple Rage" or ALL BLACK
5. Jerko - ALL BLACK
6. dbl #10s - my own builds, fave being one black+fluo pink bucktail/silver beads/pink blades
7. 12" Custom X - any color
8. Homewrecker
9. "The Pig"
10. Wild Action Wabull
EDIT:
also, I am fine and confident with any choice of color on these lures, but put some colors on a few of them, just because I have had good fishing with those exact colors and/or favorite colors to look at... :D
Also, to be honest, if need be I would be fine with only a Jointed 10" Believer and nothing else (well, a few bell-sinkers in my backpocket in addition to that).
But, if I would get to choose only two lures to bring with me it'd be:
1. 10" Jointed Believer
2. 9" weighted Suick Thriller
any colors would be fine! |

Location: Chisholm, MN | Things changed for me this year. I was one of those throwing big blades 95 percent of the time. I'm worn out now so I changed it up, and I love it!
In no order...just tools for the situation.
Bigtooth Juice Mini 8
Klack
Flaptail
Husky Medusa
Baby Beaver
Pounder bulldawg
Mid Medusa
Bigtooth 10s for night time
Sound Science Sonic Boom
Pounder underdawg
I prefer not to burn big blades these days. It's just too much punishment. Obviously, sometimes you just gotta do it. But I try to avoid it. This is what worked for me this year.

Muskies haven't had an orig. thought since the Ice Age, nothing much changes.
Does it really make that much diff. exactly what you throw? Just keep at it and at it and at it and...add nauseum.
Sometimes I wonder why I keep doing this - but I do. |

Location: MN | Hard to come up with 10 that can cover all scenarios - deep, shallow, casting, trolling fast/slow, jigging, thick weeds, emergent weeds, banging rocks, throwing back at followers, etc. My all-purpose ten would be:
double 10 - black/nickel, 3.5 oz
spinnerbait - black/nickel, 3 oz + selection of blades
Pacemaker - black
8" Weagle - black
10" Suick - firetiger + inserts for screw on weights
Hard Head - walleye
10" Believer jointed - firetiger
10" Jake - walleye
Triple D - hot whitefish
Bondy - black
Like PikePeter, if I had to have only one, without a doubt it would be a 10" jointed Believer. With the help of a few bell sinkers and the two line attachments that thing is the ultimate all purpose bait. It'll do topwater, shallow casting, deep casting, pretty good in the weeds, can troll from the surface down to 25', can hammer it into rocks, good propwash bait, and sick action speed trolling in general. |

5. Bucher Baby Depth Raider in perch

8. Hawg Wobbler - black
9. Bulldawg

Haha, what an infomercial! I actually caught a lot of smallies on banjos back in the day, can't imagine they'd be great for muskies due to their flimsy nature |

my 10 in no particular order, and, any color of any of these baits is fine with me:
* 10" Jointed Believer
* Bondy Bait Original
* Poe's Giant Jackpot
* Weighted Suick Thriller
* Jerko - ALL BLACK
* dbl #10s - my own builds, fave being one black+fluo pink bucktail w/ silver beads & pink blades
* 8" Swim Whizz
* Bulldawg Magnum
* "The Pig"
* 12" Custom X
Also, to be honest, if need be I would be fine with only a Jointed 10" Believer and nothing else (well, a few bell-sinkers in my backpocket in addition to that).
But, if I would get to choose only 3 lures to bring with me it'd be:
* 10" Jointed Believer
* Bondy Bait Original (or Jr.)
* 9" weighted Suick Thriller
any colors would be fine!
Realised I'd made a crucial error on my list of ten so I had to go back and revise it a bit...
had completely left out all rubber, and, while I don't feel I really really need to have rubber, it has a VERY good place in any fishermans tacklebox.
Of course it will depend a lot on what kinds of water one fishes in and if you have a boat and so on.
As for me not owning a boat I completely forgot about the rubbers as that plays a huge part in what I use them for, when on a boat, for vertically jigging deep. And, hands down the Bondy is my no.1 fave in that regard!!! Also I use it a lot while fishing from land when I am around deep areas (often man-made structure with deep steep areas such as docks, bridges and so on).
As said, the Bondy Bait is in high regards with me, absolutely LOVE that bait and it has produced a lot of great fishes for me, not only pike but also lots of other species.
Next season I hope to get to fish a lot for zander and I KNOW the Bondy Bait will be my no.1 choice for that job, no doubt about it! the way zander live/eats, the Bondy will be the best weapon around the places I know of... really looking forward to that!!!
Unfortunately as I live in sweden it is not a common lure to come by, at all...
And, as of now, I am actually using a copy as I sadly lost my last Bondy Bait at the end of this season... but found a copy in a local store that even was on sale that I bought in a kinda "panic"... feel a bit "dirty" from using a copy :D but, hey, baits have been copied through all of fishing history... still.... I kinda dislike using the copy of this particular bait as Jon Bondy seems like such a stand-up guy I really wanna support only him and not this knock-off brand... but, will stock up on Bondy Baits for next season (and also hopefully have my own boat for that season!!! look out fishes of the deep!!! :D )
kind and icy regards from the north of sweden!!!

| Thanks Peter for the kind words! And for all others who mentioned the Bondy Bait. We've been popping them good this fall jigging Bondy's. Here are a couple from yesterday. BTW for about the 7th or 8th year, there will be NO price increase on our baits for 2017. Thank you everyone! Jon

| I would say I could choose 9 of many of the previously listed baits so I'll round out my list with one I can't believe hasn't been posted. The Manta, regular size and or hang10. This bait runs 3rd in total fish for me only behind bucktails and bulldawgs and out fishes phantoms unless yo want to go deep. |

Black - the only color you'll ever need ;) im also a fan of black but every time ive got the same problem.im i gonna pay near 200 bucks for a crank with an awesome paint job or im gonna get a black one at the same price. at the end i almost never get the black one because i feel like someone is laughing at me. for me after black firetiger is the most versatile color |
