Location: Minneapolis, MN | Looking for recommendations for a 3-4 day late Sept./early Oct. trip next year that’s 4 hours or less from the Twin Cities. Leech, Vermillion, and Mille Lacs are out as we only have a 16.5’ boat and thus can’t handle big water with wind. Along with musky the lake also must have walleye as one of the guys will fish walleye 75% of the time and another will fish it 50% of the time, so Mantrap is out. Finally, looking for the lake to have a resort with a decent fishing boat for rent as there is only the 1 boat between the 4 guys. Being able to bring a dog and hunt ducks in the morning would be a bonus. We’ve done Cass before, and while I’m not opposed to going back, if it’s windy the lake can be a little big for the boat so I wanted to see what else people might be able to suggest.
Thanks

Detroit lakes or Ottertail lake area would be perfect for you. |

Location: Alex or Alek? | Pelican lake walleye numbers are pretty high as of late. |

Location: Mound, MN | I've heard the migratory bird numbers are down on Pelican. Sounds like a property owner on the lake has been shooting geese out of season. |

Location: Minnesota | I would not count vermilion out there are alot of bays and islands to stay out of the wind. Vermilion dam lodge has duck hunting right below the dam and other places close by |
