Just caught a small muskie on Pokegama. Anyone else have experiences with muskies on Pokegama either before or after the stocking a few years ago?

Are there any walleyes left in the lake?

I grew up on the lake and still fish it a ton for walleyes, spent some time this summer chasing muskies and only had a few follows. Think it will be a few more years before its a fishable population.

My son caught a 19"er a yr or two after the stocking. I have seen pictures of what I would guess at an upper 30's, maybe 40 caught last yr. I have been fishing that lake for at least a weeks time for the last 50 yrs, TONS of forage in the lake, including smelt, I have a hard time believing that any muskie would even think of going after a lure. Did not make it up there this year. Never have targeted them yet, will next year. Unbelievable structure, weedbeds, drop-offs, crystal clear. Just maybe too many bait fish, if that is possible,??

Thanks.....I agree about the forage. I've been fishing the area since 1959 but only fished Pokegama for the last 3 years. Beautiful lake.
