Tough to narrow it down to just one bait, but I can tell you that you will NEVER find me on the water without a wtd. Sledge rigged an ready, if I'm not already throwing it. Honorable mention goes to the Wades Wobbler.

I hate to say it I'm going to have to go with the Lac Suel Perch Manta, I finally pulled a fish in on it the other day, only 32" but it killed it. I've caught many pike and have had more follows with it than anything else in my box this year.

Slammer jerkbait, it is a cross between a Striker and a Suick in its action. It gets down about 4' to 5', and floats
back to the surface at rest. It isn't available in stores.
It can catch fish in wet grass in the backyard if I would throw it there.

I would have to say that the crankbait that has produced the most Muskies over 50 inches for me has been the Hi-Fin Trophy Diver Jtd in Black w/Hot Pink Belly,so I would not leave the dock without a couple of them along,2nd would be the Depthraider Jtd in Walleye color and the Legend "Plow" in Golden Sucker color has caught the biggest Muskies to my boat. 10" Suick weighted with a weight system insert right in front of first hook.
Without the extra weight it works good in the shallow weeds and can be worked deeper depending on how much extra weight. Sucker color is my favorite color with fire perch close second. It works great for suspended fish with more weight.

I would have to say that mine is one of ToddM's homemade spinners.[;)] Just received mine in the mail, have not thrown them yet, but looking forward to getting them wet, thanks Todd! Honestly it would have to be a 10" Jake, you can twicth them over weeds, bounce them on rocks, my clients have even caught fish just straight retrieving them. When trolled, you can't match the woble of a 10" Jake.

First half of the season no dought it would be a home made spinnerbait and from September on it's a 10" jointed believer.[:sun:]

For me it's got to be the 8' Jake
in the pike or firetiger pattern.

If I had to pick one lure it would be a Jig and plastic combo. Will catch Muskies from the earliest start of the season until the bitter freeze up. All conditions and wheather patterns. Cold fronts to when they are agressive. Can rip it extra fast to ultra slow it don't matter. You can fish a jig in all conditions and expect to get bit.

Dave, Mine would have to be any bucktail with a green or orange blade.

Sorry that was kinda bad, but its the truth.

Well, I now have not one, not two, but three!

First, is my Reef Hawg, recently reaffirmed with my 44 on Pewaukee this fall.

Second, is Suick. Dorazio modified, and tuned. This bait runs sweet, and has done well for me dince Dave showed me how to work it.

Third, is the Jason Smith .50 cal modified, jointed Believer. Put alot of fish in the boat in Oct and Nov!

same as slamr ... difficult to make a choice for one lure but by far most pike on a single lure is for my "bite me" 6" swim whizz. PIKE CAN READ!![;)] [] [:sun:]

Hawg Wobbler black, regular, slightly modified:
twist the joint open a little bit (less than 1/4inch)
and bend the lip forward slightly. Allows for a faster retrieve to cover more water.

Close second: Mouldy's Other: topper stopper, black w/ chartreuse blades (alternate: silver blades)

Without seeming like a homer, I have to say my jerkbait has been awfully good to me this year.

Second place go's to my purple Jerko "Barney".

3rd has to go to a Jackpot.

These 3 baits accounted for all my legals this year, with Barney kicking some serious butt this fall. Now that I think about it, why do I have 7+ rods and 100's of baits???? Cheese pizza mentality next year (less is more)!

Number one bait in the box this year was a firetiger Jerko. It was followed closely by a black Top Raider. Picked up a bait at the end of the year that showed alot of promise, just needs some time in the water--the Slidin' Shad. Have a hunch the fish will like that one next season.

This year my favorites were TR twitchers and Zalts for casting, straight depth raiders and 6" deep diving grandmas for trolling.

My favorite all time is a Muskie Catcher brand "floating bucktail". Hair and blade color varies based on water color and current conditions....Spins better than any bucktail ever made and easily can be worked in any depth, especially over the weeds.

Not many spinnerbaits mentioned - that is without a doubt my go to bait. Add some big plastic trailer and your set!

I also always have some type of crank bait rigged....Crane's, slammers and jakes.

I've moved more fish on a [get this] 7" Cordell Red Fin but have caught more on a white Harresser with a gold willowleaf blade, but I fish mostly rivers here in W.Va.
They work for me ! Want to catch my first on a jerk bait, no success on them at all, I have moved exactly 0 fish on a jerk. Maybe I'll get a chance to see these " masters of the jerkbait" in action when I go to LOTW this fall. How about it folks, any takers on showing a new comer the way to fish a jerk?

Up until October it was a 8" Jake (Durst Stump Knocker)
Now it's a Zalt- 7.5" sinking in Parrot color (06). Going to be experimenting w/ some Durst custom color Zalts in 2003.

This year, with out a doubt, a 5' tuff shad in the shad color took most fish for me up to 48". Lil ernies followed close behind, but for casting burts/suicks are tied for #1. The suick would probably edge out the burt just because i caught a 49" last year and my first 50" last weekend.

I'm an old timer and never heard of most of the baits talked about in the last few years.
Trolling and very close to the top for casting is a #1800 Cisco Kid. The first bait I ever fished for Muskies with was a #600 Cisco Kid and I caught 7 Muskies in one day.
