| Taking my first trip out to the Chippewa Flowage in a couple weeks. Know nothing about this body of water.
Water temps today at home were 68. Cold weather in the Hayward area forecast the next couple of weeks, just wondering where these muskies go this time of year (Sept. 29th)
My guess is that if the water temps are below 60 fish will still be found shallow on off shore reefs, or will begin their migration to the inside bends on shorelines.
Will be on the North end of the lake looking to launch out of Moss Creek. Anything helps you guys,

Location: Seymour, WI | The Sept surface bait bite on the Chip is legendary so that is what I would focus on first.
Lime green blade, black skirt bucktail is the other flowage must have.
As the water temp cools to 60 degrees or less, the sucker bite will be on as well.

Location: Seymour, WI | Maybe you are already entered in the tournament, but Sept 30-Oct 2 is the annual Muskies Inc tourney in Hayward so the lakes will be very busy that wk end. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Tourney is a week early. Water temps in high 60's now but dropping fast. Noticed that guys are working river beds. Best week of the year is coming up!! The Chip is always an early lake when it comes to fall like Namekagon. |

Thanks for the heads up on the tournament. Definitely rescheduling.
Maybe a good time to hang around. Tournaments bring out the best sticks fishing their best locations using their best techniques. Enter the tournament, watch and learn, go to the ceremony applaud the winners and listen to how people caught fish, talk to the leaders at the end of the tournament. Most will be very helpful. |

They're guys just like most of us who love muskie fishing and the camaraderie that goes along with fishing with hundreds of other muskie nuts. If you check the results after the tournament, you'll definitely get a feel for which lakes were producing and what techniques were producing the most fish. I'm sure it would be a fun event to fish in. |

Many fit the description you provided, and some do not. I've encountered enough of the bad behavior to spoil the experience for me. Regardless, good luck if you choose to fish it ! |
