| Anybody been on Waconia recently? I've never been out there, and am thinking of giving it a go tomorrow. Just curious on general patterns for that lake, shallow/deeper, weed edges/slop kinda thing. |

| Hi Tommy-
Typically Waconia is experiencing a shallow water bite this time of year. The sand/reeds from Reinke's bay on the North end all the way to Wagners Bay will produce. With that said, the week edges on all the humps need to be fished as well. The will move up on top of these at different times of the day and depending on how thick the weeds are will need certain presentations. Good luck. |

| It has been very slow out there this year. That lake is not what it used to be. |

| I think you can say that about almost every metro, and even MN lake though. At the end of the day, there's big fish in there and it's a change of scenery from Tonka for me. Tonka will continue to be the lake I spend the majority of my time on, but I like to throw others in to switch it up and be more versatile. |

| There are far better options in that area in my opinion. Some big fish, yes, but all metro lakes have 50+ in them now.
Very slow last few years. |

| Yea Waco has been a tough go the last couple years. Tonka, even Indy are much better options IMO. |

| Had 3 follows out there, nothing huge though. Beautiful day to be on the lake and there wasn't too much boat traffic either which was great. |

| From a pretty plugged in source they are estimating the adult population in the low 90s |

Yikes! What happened? 12-15 years ago this was my favorite lake. |

| .03 fish per acre? That's absurd. |

Even when Waconia was good pre-2010 that wasn't the case. |

| Well if there's only 90 in Waconia, then there's only 9 in Eagle |

| Yep. Waconia is dead. No point in wasting your time going there. Go to tonka. |

| I was out on Waconia last week in the afternoon and there had to of been about 15 other boats musky fishing. Every spot had at least two boats on it. Definitely made the conditions a little tougher. |

| Yea - that lake is crazy tough as it is. Doesn't make it any easier when there is pressure like that and you're limited on spots. |

I would have pulled out and gone to a different lake. Did you guys see anything? When I was out there it was getting pretty hard to see deeper than a couple feet. |

Good for you guys! I am hoping to put a fish in the boat tonight after work. Hate that the sun goes down so early now. I have never really been one to fish at night since it gets boring (I haven't caught a fish at night though so that could be why). I really like seeing fish come in and manipulating them. I am usually on Minnetonka so that's what it comes down too 9 times out of 10. |
