And people are actually giving this person significant amounts of money. I fear for this country some days. |

| Someone should start another GoFundMe to help counter this misinformation...

| Muskies will get stocked. And in ten years, we will have to listen to people say it ruined their walleye lake. Even though it wont. |

A fool and their money are soon parted. I agree it's a wonder to me how humans have managed to survive as long as we have. |

| I'd say it's probably about 10% "Muskies are going to eat my kids/little fluffy white dog!", 10% "Muskies are going to eat all the walleye/perch/whatever-I-like-to-eat!", 10% "I don't know anything but I heard they are bad!!" and the remaining 70% fall into the "I don't want any more boats fishing on my lake!!" |

Fisheries: Musky stocking is proceeding on the Gull & Fairmont chains of lakes with a mix of support and opposition. The proposal to also stock Big Marine & Ottertail with musky were dropped. |

I'd be willing to bet over half of that came from one person. 10:1 odds it fizzles long before $10,000 |

I wonder what happened to that kids foot.
My guess is he was clowning around and got his foot stuck in his dads 33" pike mount. |

You can certainly jig it, but I recommend dangling it off the edge of docks. I also offer custom colored anklets. |

He was bitten by the 50+ incher I saw swimming in Round (connected to Gull) while fishing smallies this summer on a shallow rock reef. There's already Muskie in Gull. I can't wait to see how awesome this fishery will be in 10 years! |

| The comments on that GoFundMe are comical and everyone should go read them. My favorites:
"This can not happen in our Gull Lake!!! We swim across that in summers! This fish is vicious!"
"Stop the madness"
"Don't let those bad boys in the lake" |

| The picture used on the page makes me wonder if it wasn't caused by a pike?? A kid couldn't tell the difference and Pike are in Trout Lake near Alban Ontario. Seems more likely and we know how inaccurate a lot of these articles are.
Secondly the best (if not only) example they can come up with was a minor injury on a remote lake in Onatrio? If muskies are so dangerous where are all the accounts of attacks in MN? A 55" musky could mess a person up if it wanted to (which they don't). Just goes to show how hard they have to search to even attempt to make a case.
Thirdly $4000+ is a lot of money but if you look it was only raised by 25 people. So not a huge following, just some wealthy (and really bored) lake home owners.

| I'm seriously considering creating a parody video and putting it on YouTube. Something like a news report format interviewing both sides highlighting how bored and ridiculous these people are and attempt to make it funny enough to get views and shares. Might be the best way to get the message out there in some ways haha. |

For thousands of years, the Darwinian principle took care of most of the idiots. Then about 50 years ago, we began to make widespread efforts to interfere with the Darwinian principle, e.g., "don't drop the radio in the bath tub", "don't use the lawnmower to trim the hedge". The end result is the number of idiots has increased alarmingly and they are also reproducing at a higher rate than the non-idiots. |

The good part for us is now that the lake has been stocked it'll be harder to stop it. |

If that's not the truth! And the non-idiots are expected to take care of them. Go figure. |

You'd think that, but I feel like the pelican association got pretty close to it this past year. |
