Anyone try one of these yet, if so what do you think? I'm looking at the 7'6" or 7' X Heavy Rods. I picked up both of these in store and they were very light but very stiff, which is perfect for me as I need something to sling bigger jerkbaits/swimbaits and price is great.

if your looking for a bargin rod i will also suggest cabelas brand muskie rods in the bargin cave in a bunch of sizes up to 9' and different actions. none more than $99 just a thought and some more options. I have a few. for the $$$ they do well. Comparable to BPS.

I use Cabela's brand rods almost exclusively and have been very happy with them.

I have an 8'6" MH 2-piece Bass Pro rod and it's caught lots of fish for me. Soft tip for tossing light lures but enough backbone to set hooks (not rubber.) Going on 3 years of abuse and no issues.

Edit: my apologies, I have a different series by Bass Pro, not the one you linked

If you are looking for a good entry level or backup rod the Graphite Series Muskie rods are a great buy for the money. I like the 7'6" H and 7'6"XH. Hard to beat for $49.99!

I've had a few and they all have performed well for me. I am usually on a budget when adding gear to my arsenal and would rather put the extra money into a reel.
