I am looking at getting a longer rod, but I have limited space. Wondering about the telescopic rods, if they are worth it and what their length is when broken down?

I use 4 Okumas rods and they all are telescoping. Three are 8'6" and the other is a 9'3" and they telescope down to 7'6". Been using them since 2008 and have no issues other than losing a ceramic insert which I deem happens to all rods especially over a long time of ownership and use.

I have a 9' XH TI telescopic rod that is my main go to rod & no major issues with this being my 7th season using the rod. I've accidentally kicked it while it was on the floor of my boat & knocked 2 guides out but had those replaced. I have noticed this year that the fore grip is loose on the end.
I had an 8'6" Hvy Okuma telescopic that broke down to under 7'. The Okuma retracted easier than the TI.

I have three Okuma 8'6" rods and a 9' TI, that are telescoping. Only issue I ever had was fishing in single digit temps one morning and when I went to leave, the rod would not move. I put it in the cabin to warm up and it worked fine after a little while. I assumed some water got between sections and froze.
