Alright, so let me preface this saying that this is my first boat. Ergo, I have never dealt with this before.

Anyways, I had a hub self implode on my trip home fourth of July weekend. Pulled the old hubs off, replaced them with the same size that were on there. Then I noticed that there is a lip on the spindle that stops the hub from sitting flush against the back plate.

I know the heavier duty hubs have a larger bearing in the backside. Is that the type of hub that was supposed to go on here? Or, is this correct. The old hubs that I pulled off must of been the same way (I didnt really look before pulling them off).

I think that lip is the weld fillet. The inner bearing would be stopped at the lip before the seal surface. You should be good.
