Location: Ham Lake, Minnesota | The St. Croix LT Big Nasty and the St. Croix Premier 8'6 Heavy are both rated for 3-8 ounce baits. Are these rods similar in action? The LT Big Nasty is definitely a step up in power over the LT Slingblade(rated 2-6 ounces).
Has anyone compared the actions of the LT Big Nasty to the St. Croix Premier 8'6 heavy? Is the Premier 8'6 heavy a step up in power over the LT Slingblade?
Would you throw bigger baits on the Premier 8'6 heavy that you wouldn't throw with the LT Slingblade?
Thank you |

| The LT is a superior rod. It has higher quality materials throughout its construction. It will also weigh less than the premiere. |

Location: Wisconsin | I had a premier 8'6" heavy and now a big dawg and Nasty and like mentioned above they are in another league compared to the premier. Things to consider also is the lifetime warranty and that they are made in the USA, that cannot be said for the premier. You can buy a Big Nasty used in great shape for 225-250 quite frequently. |

You might want to check again. All premier musky rods are made in the USA. |

Correct i had that mistaken with the Mojo and triumph line as those are made in Mexico. Lifetime warranty alone makes the legend worth the extra money in my opinion. |

| i am curius about that too, because i would like a big nasty with the premier non palming handle but without the cost of a custom rod and i was looking at the premier too ! |

Location: South-Central PA | The main differences are the weight of the Premier (not a big deal to me) and the stiffness of the tip. Due to the differences in materials used, the Premier has a thicker (stiffer) tip than the Nasty.
@danlaboucane, have a local rod builder switch the reel seat for you.
