| How fast do you guys troll at night during the summer months... been out night trolling a couple times this year and slowed down to about 3.5 to 3.7 instead of 4.
Thanks |

Location: MN | If fishing a bait that walks/wanders make sure you are at least going fast enough to get that triggering action. Most of the popular baits that have this action start walking around 3.5. Test the bait during the day to determine the speed that gives them the best action. A musky has no problem locating and catching a bait at night at normal trolling speeds. |

Location: SE, WI. | For Me; it really depends on the lure, some lures run better with speed and some don't.... and relative to where you want your baits to run depth wise, with accordance to structure. JD |

| I do a fair amount of night trolling. Usually I run 13" grandmas behind TX-44 boards with a lockjaw clip. Best speed for me has been 2.5-3.0 mph. Over the years I've caught more big fish night trolling than any other time. |

| What depth are you guys covering? Mostly the 1-5 ft range of water or do some of you guys run deeper? |

| I'm usually running baits 10-20' behind the boads so they're getting down 4-8' I suppose. The vast majority of the time I'm trolling open water for suspended fish as our lakes are cisco/whitefish dominated. |

| I'm always rowing but do very well at night from 1.5-2.1. I also like to use lures with a rattle in them as I think it helps fish locate the lures with reduced visibility. Tuff shads and a couple of the slammer lures with rattles produce very well at night for me. I run lures deep and shallow and get them at all depths. The 13 inch grandmas someone suggested before also work very well after dark. |

| Has anyone noticed on busy lakes before it warms up the fish bite good during the day. But after all the pleasure boats come out the fish disappear. I was wondering myself if they become more nocturnal because of all the boat pressure? |
