Location: Forest Lake, MN | Hi Guys,
I just moved back to the area after a long stint in Iowa. I have not been able to get out after muskie much but should have some time on my hands this month and am hoping to get after some on Forest Lake. Not looking for any specifics, but do you have any general guidance on fishing that lake?
Any help appreciated, thanks. | |

Location: MN | I was recently told 12' with jerk baits. I have been fishing shallow myself, less than 4' and have seen a few but still have not caught one. I'm sure there are fish in the 7'-9' cabbage and coontail as well. No matter where you fish be sure to fish both sides of the boat.
Lake one is already getting an algae bloom, lake two and three are still quite clear. Plenty of big muskies but they have become highly educated and are still boat shy. I expect in a couple more weeks they will be more aggressive and less boat shy. The muskie pay no attention to the heavy boat traffic. I have not raised a fish this year outside of the solunar times.
The pondweed is pretty much gone and the native weeds are getting quite thick, water temps are the mid to upper 70's.
