| Lake Mohawksin hosted the second WMT western region qualifier on Saturday, June 21. One hundred and ten anglers competed in the one day, ten hour tournament. The competitors were fishing for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes, along with a $30,000 Ranger boat from Heckel's Eagle River Marina for the largest muskie, fifty inches or longer. Brian Kastner and Brian Emmerich, both from Woodruff, took first place honors, earning $9,600.00 and first place trophies.
The Mohawksin tournament paid down five places:
1st place- Brian Kastner & Brian Emmerich, both of Woodruff
2nd place- Kraig Kolka and Andy Mann, both of Merrill
3rd place- Steve Spencer, Rhinelander and Johnny Revels, Sparta
4th place- Brad Knoll, Rhinelander and Mike Barnes, Tomahawk
5th place- Roman and Evan Derleth, both of Tomahawk
