Location: Wisconsin | I have a Terrova with I pilot that i want to connect to the 858 on my bow. I have the US2 adapter and i was not able to get the unit to read through the universal sonar. If anyone has any tips or settings that i might need to change please shoot me a message. Thanks again as i was not able to find much info online.

| I am also experiencing issues. I am going to update my unit today. For me when the Terrova is on the unit does not read bottom. I have heard that you have to make sure the connections are extremely tight. If you hear anything please share. |

Location: Elk River, MN | I'd guess either the connection isn't quite tight or there's something goofy with the Terrova. The 858 shouldn't require any setting changes or updates. I picked one up just a week ago and plugged into the Terrova without any problems or changes needed. |

| I had a problem with my 999 and trolling motor, it took a software update of both the Motor and the 999 to make it see the Ipilot link...

Location: Wisconsin | Yes it is a down imaging model. I am guessing i will have to mount the transducer on either the unit or run it off the one at the helm. The DI transducer was damaged in drinking incident so i thought i would just run it off the bow like i wanted. |

| 2D sonar should work as long as your in 2d view. I put my 999 on my buds troller a couple weeks ago since his 959 crapped out. |

"NOTE: Minn Kota motors with built-in Universal Sonar 2 (including those with i-Pilot Link) are not compatible with Humminbird's Down Imaging Sonar. An external XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T (83/200) or XTM 9 DI 25T (200/455) is required for all sonar readings with all 1100, 900, and 800 Humminbird Down Imaging units. An external XTM 9 DI 25T transducer would be required for the 788ci HD DI. " |

| Very interesting^^^ I kinda just figured that the di pins wouldn't be used just like the di/si pins weren't on my 999. |

| The down and side imaging models work with the universal sonar transducer on the terrova, however you can only use traditional 2d sonar and not down or side imaging.
Make sure your unit is updated and restore the default settings. Next under the sonar menu tab go to transducer select and choose what transducer you want to use, the transducer setting must correspond to the transducer type connected to your system. Make sure your batteries are fully charged. Also the connections should be tight but don't over tighten them, use some dielectric grease on the connections. |
