Hi guys,

I've found postings of 1760s with a 36 volt trolling motors; where are they putting the charger in those cases? Can the 1760 take 3 TM batteries in front, 2 in the back and 2 chargers? If so, how would that be laid out? Assuming no oil tank as I'm going for stroke.

Thanks

I have an 80 lb Terrova on my 1760 and do a large percentage of my fishing on LOTW. I am also one to fish into the wind most of the time. I honestly don't know why you would need or want a 36 volt TM on a 1760?

Yes you can put 3 batteries in-front but you would have to get creative to install the charger? You could probably put it in one of the two compartments to either side. I have 2 batteries and my charger in the spot for the 3rd.

I have also installed a Minn Kota DC Alternator charger. But I did this after I fished LOTW several times with my 1760. The main reason I did this is because it never fails to have a power outage on the docks on LOTW after storms. This charger tops off the starting battery first and diverts the charge coming from the big motor to the TM batteries. After I installed this, rarely are my batteries under 75%. I had to make a mounting panel but I managed to install it under my console. The thing was around $100. If you need some help let me know and I will send you pictures, if you are at all handy it is not hard.

I NEVER worry about battery life anymore..........

I hope this helps.

I have a 1760 GDC and there is room for 3 batteries under the rod locker. Even though I have a 24 volt/80lb Terrova and room for the charger in that compartment, the guys that rigged mine recommended keeping the charger in "open air" for ventilation reasons. So, they mounted mine under the driver side council and I honestly have room to spare.
